About the position

The Application Cloud Developer DevOps position at ABBTECH Professional Resources, Inc. is a critical role focused on promoting state-of-the-art IT solutions within a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining containers, as well as enabling container deployments and implementations of serverless architectures within AWS. This role requires a versatile individual who is enthusiastic about tackling new challenges and contributing to the development of innovative products. The ideal candidate will possess detailed experience with AWS and its core resources, including EC2, S3, CloudFormation stacks, and RDS. Familiarity with CloudFormation scripts for creating and maintaining AWS resources is essential. Additionally, the candidate should have programming experience in languages such as Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Groovy, or NodeJS, with a preference for those who have experience using the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) in any of its supported languages. While experience in Java and C# is not mandatory, it is considered beneficial for assisting development teams in utilizing AWS effectively. The position requires a strong understanding of architectural best practices and experience with Jenkins, including building Jenkins Pipelines using Groovy, Python, and Bash shell scripts. Candidates should have a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with at least 11.5 years of experience to be considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in this field. A University Degree or equivalent experience is also required. The role demands a high level of expertise in object-oriented programming, AWS services, relational databases, continuous integration technologies, and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain containers for application deployment.
  • Enable container deployments and implementations of serverless architectures within AWS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote IT solutions and share lessons learned.
  • Utilize AWS resources effectively, including EC2, S3, CloudFormation, and RDS.
  • Develop and maintain CloudFormation scripts for AWS resource management.
  • Build Jenkins Pipelines using Groovy, Python, and Bash shell scripts.
  • Assist development teams in utilizing AWS correctly and following architectural best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with users, technical teams, and senior management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with at least 11.5 years of experience.
  • Expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • Experience with AWS services such as CloudFormation, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, and ElasticSearch.
  • Experience with relational databases including RDS, Oracle, Postgres, and MySQL.
  • Experience in continuous integration technology such as Jenkins, GitLab/GitHub.
  • Experience in a Linux environment, including Bash scripting.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming.
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with application platforms such as Spring Boot or Angular.
  • Experience with log analytics tools such as Splunk or ElasticSearch.
  • Experience working with containers using Docker or Podman.
  • Experience with container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes and Mesos.
  • Experience in an Agile environment (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience with Microservices and front-end development using Angular 10.
  • Familiarity with source code management and integration (e.g., GitHub/GitLab).
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities and bringing order to ambiguous scenarios.
