About the position

The position involves improving machining processes to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. The role requires updating process documentation, developing new product designs, and actively participating in troubleshooting operations issues. The individual will also train operations staff on machining processes and implement new technologies as part of capital projects, ensuring timelines are met.

Responsibilities

  • Improve existing machining processes to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Update process documentation to ensure accuracy of setups, programs, and tooling information.
  • Develop and implement new product designs.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of operational issues.
  • Train operations staff on new and existing machining processes.
  • Implement new technology as part of capital projects while maintaining timeline integrity.
  • Communicate and interact with all levels of the organization to facilitate action and drive improvements.
  • Support the business by working on 2nd and/or 3rd shift as required.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with CNC programming, especially basic manual programming, cutting tools, and part work holding.
  • 2 plus years' experience in a relevant field is highly preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Experience with CAM software is preferred.
  • Associate Degree in an Engineering-related discipline is required; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • 1-4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment involving high-speed machining and automation is highly preferred.
  • Experience using manual lathes, mills, and other equipment is highly preferred.
  • Experience using basic measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, etc. is preferred.
