The Application/Database Developer, Tier 1 position is a hybrid role that requires applicants to submit a cover letter along with their resume for consideration. The primary function of this role is to develop, test, and maintain Microsoft .Net Windows and web-based applications that support the business requirements of the ESD. The ideal candidate must have a proficient knowledge of current Microsoft Application Development tools and programming languages, and should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Key duties include application programming, system installation and maintenance, diagnostics and performance monitoring, end-user support, system disaster recovery, application testing, and documentation. Additionally, the developer will provide technical assistance in various IT areas as directed by department managers. The role involves active participation in all stages of the application development life cycle, supporting and enhancing .Net and MS Dynamics workflows, and creating and maintaining SQL Server Database Applications to support business functions. The position also entails migrating legacy applications to MS Dynamics and other cloud-based technologies such as Azure, creating and configuring MS Dynamics entities, field-level security, and business units. The developer will be responsible for creating, modifying, deploying, and supporting custom dashboards, charts, and reports in custom applications and MS Dynamics. Furthermore, the role includes providing support for MS Office applications, particularly Access and Excel, and performing data analysis and ad hoc reporting as required by application users and ESD management. The developer will liaise with project managers, end users, and third-party vendors to support application requirements, troubleshoot application performance bottlenecks, and develop test and debug strategies to ensure system reliability and data integrity. Researching new technologies to enhance professional knowledge and maintain an industry-current skill set is also a key aspect of this role. The position is expected to work onsite and/or remotely in accordance with NYS and ESD guidelines and needs.
