About the position

The Application Developer Analyst position at the Agency for Persons with Disabilities is dedicated to supporting IT systems that facilitate the agency's mission. This role involves writing, translating, and coding software programs to create new applications or enhance existing ones, ensuring they meet specified requirements. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to maintain and improve business applications, contributing to the overall workplace culture and community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Write, translate, and code software programs to build new applications or enhance existing applications according to specifications.
  • Provide maintenance and support to existing APD business applications.
  • Assist in defining, developing, and documenting business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications for software development.
  • Design, run, and monitor software performance tests on new and existing applications to correct errors and improve functionality.
  • Liaise with network administrators, database administrators, systems analysts, and business owners to resolve application issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum two-year degree in programming/computer science or a Microsoft C# developer certification, or at least two years of experience in software development.
  • Experience developing and implementing n-tier web applications using C#, .Net Framework/Core, XML, JSON, ADO.NET/Entity Framework, Restful Services, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, ASP.Net, Web Forms/MVC, and IIS.
  • Experience with the complete software development lifecycle phases: analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of n-tier web applications.
  • Experience creating Stored Procedures and developing database objects using SQL Server.
  • Experience creating and maintaining data interfaces between various platforms using different data formats.
  • Experience building test matrices for systems testing.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services or Microsoft Power BI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of database design and data modeling.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  • Familiarity with version control software tools.
