The Application Developer / Analyst position at the Department for Aging & Rehabilitation Services (DARS) is a critical role within the Information Technology Division (ITD). This division provides essential technology services to various functional programs within DARS and, through agreements, to several Disability Services Agencies (DSA). The primary focus of this position is to support the development team in creating and managing applications that align with the strategic goals and initiatives of the DSA. The successful candidate will work closely with the DSA IT Lead Developer to ensure that all applications and systems are developed in compliance with the standards set by the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) and other relevant stakeholders. This includes adhering to state and federal regulations regarding data collection and security, as well as the administration of IT systems and applications. As an Application Developer / Analyst, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include application development, management, and providing engineering technology and infrastructure support. The role requires a strong understanding of modern programming techniques and tools, as well as experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and will be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The position is hourly and has specific limitations on the number of hours worked per week and per year, which means it does not include benefits such as health insurance or retirement plans. This role is designated as sensitive, requiring a fingerprint-based criminal history check for the finalist candidate.
