About the position

The Application Developer (APPLICATIONS PROGR 3) at the University of California, Davis is responsible for the development and support of Identity and Access Management (IAM) applications. This role involves all phases of application development including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and integration, ensuring the seamless operation of mission-critical systems that support authentication, identity management, and account provisioning. The position requires effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support Identity and Access Management (IAM) applications.
  • Participate in all phases of application development including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and integration.
  • Assess data quality and perform data cleaning as required.
  • Provide technical support for IAM application development.
  • Engage in system design and development for IAM applications.
  • Evaluate software and technology for professional currency.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Oracle RDBMS or other complex relational database management systems.
  • Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, and web services (SOAP/WSDL, REST).
  • Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring and Angular.
  • Familiarity with application development methodologies and networking concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with application servers such as Tomcat, Apache, Jetty, or Glassfish.
  • Familiarity with open source frameworks and tools like Eclipse, Spring, Struts, and jQuery.
  • Experience with data management tools for ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
