About the position

The IT Staff Expert (Application Developer Expert) plays a crucial role in delivering tested code that addresses critical business needs. This position encompasses the entire life cycle of application development, which includes design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of complex web applications that support key business initiatives. The individual in this role is expected to create solutions that are not only functional but also highly usable, scalable, extensible, and maintainable. The responsibilities extend to designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining various web-based platforms, including websites, portals, web applications, and web services. Additionally, the IT Staff Expert will manage the associated hardware, software, network, and security components that are integral to these solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the technical landscape and the ability to integrate various systems and applications effectively. The IT Staff Expert will also be responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues, conducting systems stress testing, and ensuring quality control benchmarks are met. The position demands a proactive approach to problem resolution, including investigating, analyzing, fixing, and documenting reported defects. Furthermore, the individual will perform project management duties, compile and update documentation, and provide support and training to team members and stakeholders. Regular analysis and reporting on ongoing risks, issues, action items, and deliverables will also be part of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct development, design, implementation and operation of web applications.
  • Integrate, interface, correct, and debug programs and applications.
  • Conduct input/output functions for various applications.
  • Perform monitoring/measurement, systems stress testing, and quality control benchmarks.
  • Support using the capabilities of the Web and Internet.
  • Install Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products as needed.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical business issues and technical problems.
  • Investigate, analyze, fix, and document reported defects in applications.
  • Perform project management duties to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Perform computer problem resolution and analysis to maintain system integrity.
  • Compile, create, edit, and update documentation for applications and processes.
  • Provide support and training to users and team members.
  • Provide analysis and reports for ongoing risks, issues, action items, deliverables, and status reports.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree; Master's preferred.
  • 8 - 15 years of general IT experience.
  • 6 - 10 years of specialized experience in application development.
  • Knowledgeable of a broad range of business systems solutions.
  • Requires specialized skill sets and experience with enterprise systems, languages, technologies, and communications.
