Application Developer - Golang

About the position

CTG is seeking to fill an Application Developer - Golang opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ. The position is focused on developing and maintaining applications using Java and web technologies with a strong emphasis on high performance and scalability. The role involves leveraging strong coding skills to build and enhance APIs, backend services, and integration components, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Platform, QE/Testing, Product, Operations, and Solutions. The developer will participate in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) efforts, ensuring frequent, reliable releases, and will troubleshoot and optimize code for performance, scalability, and reliability in cloud environments. Additionally, the developer will contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and provide technical guidance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Java and web technologies with a focus on high performance and scalability.
• Leverage strong coding skills to build and enhance APIs, backend services, and integration components.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Platform, QE/Testing, Product, Operations, and Solutions.
• Participate in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) efforts, ensuring frequent, reliable releases.
• Troubleshoot and optimize code for performance, scalability, and reliability in cloud environments.
• Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and provide technical guidance as needed.

Requirements

• Strong coding experience in Golang (preferred) and Java - minimum 5+ years.
• Deep understanding of frameworks, algorithms, multithreading, reflection, and API security.
• Hands-on experience with Couchbase, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis cache.
• Familiarity with Cloud platforms and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Docker.
• Agile mindset with the ability to deliver code and artifacts quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced release cycle.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience in agile environments with frequent release cycles is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
