About the position

The Application Developer I position is an entry-level role based in Cleveland, OH, focused on delivering high-quality software solutions. The developer will be responsible for automating, configuring, and supporting web solutions in a global environment, with an emphasis on maintaining current software, patches, features, and configurations. This role offers a dynamic work environment and requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure quality assurance and adherence to coding standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of long-term strategic goals for technologies.
  • Collaborate with business owners and department managers to support technology platforms.
  • Work with development staff to ensure quality assurance and adherence to coding standards.
  • Assist with the quality assurance of new applications and enhancements.
  • Implement software products and services to support procurement and development efforts.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and provide advice based on findings.
  • Ensure new software integrations meet functional requirements and system compliance.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in software testing.
  • Assist in the engineering and maintenance of secure and scalable infrastructure.
  • Document installation and configuration standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Perform automated deployments of digital assets.
  • Tune web and application server performance.
  • Monitor servers, applications, and websites.
  • Assist with disaster recovery implementation.
  • Participate in various projects to enhance efficiency.
  • Attend meetings with developers and business users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 1+ years of IT experience.
  • Experience with Application Servers and web-based architecture.
  • Familiarity with automation and deployment tools (e.g., Ruby, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience building cloud solutions and working with Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of security tools (WAF, SAST, DAST) and network concepts.
  • Proficiency with Linux or *nix operating systems and task automation via scripting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Enterprise Content Management Systems.
  • AWS or other cloud platform experience.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code and container security.
  • Familiarity with Application Performance Management tools (e.g., Dynatrace).
  • Knowledge of LDAP and Agile development practices.
