About the position

The Application Developer II position at the Florida Department of Transportation involves providing technical assistance to application development teams, primarily focusing on the Information Builders software suite. The role includes coordinating the implementation and support of software products, transitioning reports to Microsoft Power BI, and assisting in troubleshooting development software issues. The position requires collaboration with various technical support groups to ensure proper integration within the overall IT environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to application development teams with a focus on Information Builders software.
  • Coordinate the implementation and support of the Information Builders software suite.
  • Transition and migrate WebFOCUS reports to Microsoft Power BI or other approved platforms.
  • Assist application development personnel in troubleshooting software-related problems.
  • Create, migrate, and delete models and objects in the Central Encyclopedia according to the Department's model management strategy.
  • Administer the Central Encyclopedia, including user and group definitions, model security, and backups.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in computer systems analysis and/or programming.
  • Knowledge of DB2 and Customer Information Control System (CICS).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or other reporting platforms.
  • Ability to provide technical support to computer applications programmers.
  • Ability to develop computer programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Information Builders software suite.
