About the position

The Application Developer II position at TriWest Healthcare Alliance involves designing, coding, debugging, testing, documenting, and supporting in-house developed programs and vendor-supplied applications. The role focuses on software upgrades, report development, and system integration, ensuring that applications function efficiently and meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, codes, debugs, tests, documents, and supports in-house developed programs and vendor-supplied applications.
  • Assists with software upgrades and develops reports using site-standard report writers.
  • Evaluates and tests vendor-supplied software packages for compatibility with existing systems.
  • Researches software modules and understands business processes they support.
  • Converts logical design into program code and adapts programs to new requirements.
  • Analyzes, designs, and develops code for multiple system interfaces and data integration services.
  • Provides daily support to functional end-users and resolves system issues through debugging.
  • Coordinates communication between departments to ensure application functionality.
  • Develops system and program test plans and conducts program/system testing.
  • Prepares technical reports and maintains system design documents.
  • Logs, monitors, and manages event calls regarding reported problems.
  • Responsible for triaging daily user trouble tickets and performing first-level response.
  • Serves on project teams and participates in project review/status meetings.
  • Documents change control and performs on-call support functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field with programming and database systems courses or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of general application development and support experience.
  • 1 year of experience supporting large enterprise-wide applications.
  • 1 year of experience programming and report writing using MS SQL and Oracle DBMS.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of general application development and support experience.
  • 2+ years experience with EPIC, Cerner, or closely related medical management applications.
  • 2+ years of experience programming and report writing using Microsoft SQL and Oracle DBMS.
  • Healthcare Industry experience.
