About the position

The Application Developer II - Oracle APEX position at Region 10 Education Service Center involves full-stack software development, implementation, and ongoing support for a variety of web applications and data systems. The developer will work on external client projects and contribute to internal software projects, ensuring effective user interface design, data integration, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-stack software development and maintenance on web applications and data systems.
• Design and develop user interfaces and applied artificial intelligence solutions.
• Create functional requirements and technical specifications with stakeholders.
• Develop project objectives and timelines, ensuring completion within time and budget constraints.
• Conduct system testing, bug fixes, and manage project change requests.
• Implement new systems and applications, providing post-rollout support.
• Recommend software vendors, platforms, and products for solutions.
• Monitor technology evolution and its potential impact on Region 10.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in web application development projects.
• Solid grasp of web foundation technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relational databases.
• Experience with Oracle APEX and Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
• Demonstrated capacity to rapidly learn new software languages and tools.
• Experience in all phases of project management, including high-risk technical projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Data Build Tool (DBT) for SQL-based data transformation.
• Experience with Talend Open Studio for data integration.
• Familiarity with RESTful API development and usage with JSON/XML.
• Knowledge of Agile or Lean software development processes using Scrum/Kanban.
• Experience with Java programming and Microsoft technologies including C# .Net.
