About the position

The Application Developer II (ServiceNow) at Florida International University is responsible for managing the ServiceNow system administration and development. This role involves overseeing the operation, education, and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform, serving as a technical subject matter expert, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop workflows and solutions that drive organizational change. The position also includes responsibilities for software development, data management, and providing user support, ensuring the platform's health and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ServiceNow system administration and development.
  • Serve as a developer and technical subject matter expert for the ServiceNow system.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop workflows and perform needs assessments.
  • Assist in solution development and influence organizational change.
  • Manage the health, administration, usage, and overall compliance of ServiceNow and its applications.
  • Configure and enhance core applications including Service Catalog, Service Portal, and Knowledge Base.
  • Support implemented and proposed solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Load, manipulate, and maintain data, and API integration between ServiceNow and other systems.
  • Develop ServiceNow software solutions using JavaScript, Web Services, MYSQL, XML, HTML, and CSS.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Deploy features and ServiceNow releases, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide timely and courteous support to users.
  • Collaborate with team members to design solutions for technical issues.
  • Participate in the on-call function of the Incident/Change team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Studies or other technical discipline and three (3) years related experience; OR seven (7) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Experience working with a wide range of web-based technologies is preferred.
  • Experience using software best practices to develop ServiceNow solutions and workflows.
  • Experience with ServiceNow incident, change, problem, request, CMDB and knowledge management applications.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $75,000 - $85,000.
