About the position

The Application Developer II position at Rutgers University involves providing analytical and programming support for the Financial Aid and Enrollment management systems within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). This role is crucial for managing the Oracle Student Financial Planning (OSFP) environment, ensuring system upgrades, user account maintenance, and supporting administrative processes. The developer will collaborate with various university departments to enhance application functionalities and assist in training users, thereby contributing to the overall efficiency of university operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing necessary system upgrades in all OSFP environments and testing impacted areas and workflows.
• Perform basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, and workflows.
• Work with institutional management to establish processes for administrative, development, and change management activities.
• Assist in training new users and enhancing the OSFP skill set across the organization.
• Collaborate with the user community to define and document development requirements.
• Coordinate the evaluation, scope, and completion of new development requests.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of relevant experience in the development of web and database applications using Java.
• Three years of relevant experience in ETL processes using PL/SQL.
• Experience with SQL database technologies (Oracle), syntax, and principles.
• Experience with leveraging application programming interfaces (APIs) to support and enhance applications.
• Understanding of the platform to build custom apps, formula fields, workflows, and custom views.
• Experience with GITlab, PL/SQL, and Groovy Scripting or JAVA.
• Experience with ETL tools and Reporting tools.
• Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on applications, systems, and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

• OSFP/Oracle Cloud Admin certification preferred.
• Relevant system administration experience with cloud applications.
• Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption.
• Strong data management abilities.
• Strong understanding of Higher Education related processes and systems.
• Documented history of successfully driving projects to completion.
• Ability to understand and articulate complex requirements.
• Strong understanding of Oracle Cloud best practices and functionality.
