About the position

The Application Developer II at Olympus Insurance Company is responsible for supporting and maintaining database-driven web applications. This role involves coding, testing, and upgrading existing applications while ensuring adherence to software development life cycle (SDLC) policies. The developer will work closely with various departments to translate business requirements into technical specifications and production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Codes and tests web applications, maintaining and upgrading existing applications.
  • Develops and modifies applications using SQL, Custom workflow engines, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML, C#, and .NET.
  • Designs and enhances relational databases, creating stored procedures, views, user-defined functions, triggers, and tables.
  • Develops and supports service-oriented APIs.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves bugs and failures in applications.
  • Adheres to SDLC policies, utilizing tools like JIRA and Bitbucket.
  • Participates in training and cross-training of other staff members.
  • Works effectively with team members to meet development deadlines.

Requirements

  • College Degree in a relevant field, technical certifications, or relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of MS SQL Server development with query optimization techniques.
  • 3+ years of T-SQL/Stored Procedure Development.
  • 1+ years of SSRS/Power BI (or similar) report creation.
  • Familiarity with OOP programming methodologies.
  • 3-5 years of web development experience (Java/JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML, C#, .NET) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Azure development experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
