The Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) maintains a core application, the Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS), built using Smalltalk language which is an Object-oriented programming language with an on-premises Oracle database. OYA is currently in the implementation phase of modernizing this application and is collaborating with an implementation vendor to deliver the new solution using a Low code platform. OYA is seeking an experienced Smalltalk developer to provide technical expertise in Smalltalk, analyze the existing Smalltalk code, and translate business logic and validation rules into plain English/pseudo-code to support the modernization effort. This developer will play a crucial role in ensuring the vendor team fully understands the existing system’s functionality and requirements. Additionally, the developer will provide ongoing support for the legacy application as needed.
