About the position

The Application Developer Expert (JEE Applications) role at WSSC involves joining the IT Application Development Solutions (ADS) team to develop, maintain, and support Java Enterprise Edition applications and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products. The position requires analyzing and troubleshooting production issues while collaborating with various IT teams to ensure smooth operations and modernization of legacy applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain JEE applications.
• Modernize legacy applications.
• Provide operational support for existing applications.
• Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams including Platform, DBA, Network, Security, Help Desk, and Change Management.
• Collaborate with QA team to support application QA and UAT.
• Support system patching and disaster recovery exercises.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on full stack development experience.
• Experience with enterprise-level application development and microservice architecture.
• Strong proficiency in Java, including experience with frameworks such as CDI/Spring Framework and JPA.
• Experience using relational database systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Quick to learn and adapt.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SOAP and/or REST API developments.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, and HTML.
• Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Database Design, Oracle and/or SQL Server database servers.
• Experience with IBM Rational Application Developer or Eclipse.
• Familiarity with Maven and CI/CD processes.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, and Oracle WebLogic.
• Understanding of Design Patterns.
