About the position

The Application Developer Lead, Assistant Vice President at Barclays Services Corp is responsible for leading the analysis and development of technical solutions and applications. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, develop project plans, and oversee the implementation of solutions that meet expectations. The position also includes supporting ongoing development and maintenance of existing platforms, interpreting functional requirements into deployable production code, and mentoring new joiners to enhance their performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the analysis and development of technical solutions/applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop project plans.
  • Oversee the implementation of solutions that meet business expectations.
  • Support ongoing development and maintenance of existing platforms.
  • Interpret functional requirements and convert them into deployable production code.
  • Develop solutions for both tactical and strategic objectives to meet business requirements.
  • Produce implementation specifications according to business requirements.
  • Train new joiners and provide ongoing feedback to improve their performance.
  • Analyze existing business application domains to identify functional gaps and provide solutions.
  • Produce system design documents and lead technical walkthroughs.
  • Gather and understand business functional requirements, technical specifications, and develop technologies solutions.
  • Transform data from various formats into SQL-compatible format for seamless integration.
  • Partner with the team to create and launch financial applications to minimize credit exposure and liquidity risk.
  • Analyze, isolate root causes, and resolve issues with precision.

Requirements

  • Experience in leading software development projects and teams.
  • Proficiency in industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices and unit testing.
  • Ability to collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements.
  • Experience in mentoring and training team members.
