About the position

As an Application Developer (P3) within the Hubs & Gateways division of DHL Express, you will play a crucial role in the development and support of software applications that are essential for the operational efficiency of the Americas Hubs and Gateways facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all activities related to the design, development, and support of information systems and software applications are executed effectively. This includes leveraging your communication and analytical skills to navigate challenges and eliminate risks of IT disruptions or outages, adhering to the DHL Express mandate of 'Zero Defect'. You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for managing the development and support of new applications, systems software, and upgrades throughout their life-cycle. This involves establishing and executing a strategy for Hubs & Gateways IT Software Solutions, ensuring that development projects align with business needs and requirements, and translating end-user requirements into IT solutions. Your technical expertise will be critical in areas such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, C# .NET, SQL Server, and cross-platform development. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will also be tasked with providing end-to-end service management, maintaining strong links with business IT and key stakeholders, and representing Hubs & Gateways IT Software Solutions to customers and vendors. Regular reporting on project progress, risks, and resource utilization will be part of your duties, along with managing processes and documentation within the application development and support team. You will lead a team in a fast-paced environment, establishing objectives and KPIs to drive performance and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute a strategy for Hubs & Gateways IT Software Solutions as build provider to DHL Express IT.
• Manage the development and support of new applications, systems software, and upgrades throughout their life-cycle.
• Ensure that development projects match business needs, requirements, and agreed budget, translating end-user requirements into IT solutions.
• Develop applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, C# .NET, and SQL Server Database.
• Provide end-to-end service management and resolve all runtime issues.
• Establish and maintain strong team links with business IT and key stakeholders.
• Represent Hubs & Gateways IT Software Solutions to customers and IT vendors.
• Provide regular reports on activity/project progress, milestones, risks, and resource utilization.
• Update and publish Application Roadmaps and Solution Profiles according to Global standards.
• Manage processes, procedures, standards, and documentation within the application development & support team.
• Lead employees in a dynamic environment and establish objectives, targets, and KPIs.

Requirements

• 3+ years' professional IT experience in relevant areas within an international corporation.
• 3 years' experience in IT development/support.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Technical understanding of systems development and operation.
• Knowledge of application life-cycle management and methodologies such as CM-tools, agile, scrum, and waterfall.
• Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and supervise a team of IT specialists.
• Business management and budget control experience.
• Fluency in business English.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with React, NextJS, or Flutter.
• Familiarity with cross-platform development skills.
• Experience in a similar role within the logistics or transportation industry.
