About the position

The AVP, Application Developer, RFT Tech at Barclays Services Corp. is responsible for designing, developing, and improving enterprise-class distributed, micro-service, and cloud-based applications. This role involves translating high-level requirements into technical artifacts, contributing to software architecture, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that align with the strategic objectives of the Global Treasury business within a regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for software architecture design of enterprise-class distributed, micro-service & cloud-based applications.
• Translate high-level requirements into defined work items to produce technical artifacts.
• Design new software solutions using event-driven Microservice and Enterprise Integration Patterns.
• Contribute to model/design storming sessions, sprint demos, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
• Provide software development support in production and contribute to test environment setup and management.
• Drive the adoption of Lean and Agile techniques.
• Work with Team Leads, Product Owners, and Project Managers to build the project backlog.
• Conduct software design and code evaluations in the context of development.
• Oversee performance bottlenecks and provide solutions to resolve them.
• Conduct reviews of test plans and test scripts.

Requirements

• Experience in software development using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based applications.
• Ability to translate high-level requirements into technical specifications.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Lean practices.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and unit testing.

• Familiarity with Big Data solutions and optimization techniques.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with product managers and designers.
• Knowledge of industry technology trends and innovations.
