The Application Developer, Salesforce at Fisher Investments plays a crucial role in supporting the Technology Business Services team by providing both internally-developed and third-party software solutions primarily on the Salesforce platform. This position involves managing the technical aspects of assigned projects, which includes planning, issue resolution, and independently converting requirements into Technical Design Specifications. The developer will be responsible for designing and writing code for enterprise-wide projects, ensuring that the solutions meet the needs of various departments within the organization. In this role, the Application Developer will manage the technical development of software from inception through user acceptance, particularly focusing on projects that may affect multiple departments or present medium risk situations. The developer will design steps and modules, adhere to timelines, and proactively identify and resolve issues that arise during the development process. Expertise in Salesforce is essential, as the developer will create solutions using configuration and custom code in Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Financial Service Cloud. This includes utilizing Lightning Component Development or Classic UI, Apex Classes/Triggers, Visualforce Pages, Salesforce Workflow, SOQL, SOSL, and the Force.com API. The developer will also contribute to the creation of Technical Design Specifications for projects, including logic flow charts and process diagrams. Testing and debugging of the developed code will be a critical part of the role, as well as supporting production software operations during both normal business hours and off-hours. The Application Developer will engage in team discussions, troubleshoot client issues, and may be responsible for client support across an entire business unit. Additionally, the role may involve researching external software solutions to enhance the capabilities of the Salesforce platform.
