About the position

The Application Developer, Salesforce at Fisher Investments plays a crucial role in supporting the Technology Business Services team by providing both internally-developed and third-party software solutions primarily on the Salesforce platform. This position involves managing the technical aspects of assigned projects, which includes planning, issue resolution, and independently converting business requirements into Technical Design Specifications. The developer will be responsible for designing and writing code for enterprise-wide projects, ensuring that the solutions meet the needs of various departments within the organization. In this role, you will manage the technical development of software from inception through user acceptance, particularly focusing on projects that may affect multiple departments or present medium risk situations. You will design steps and modules, adhere to timelines, and identify and resolve issues as they arise. Your expertise will be utilized to develop solutions using both configuration and custom code within Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Financial Service Cloud. This includes working with Lightning Component Development or Classic UI, Apex Classes/Triggers, Visualforce Pages, Salesforce Workflow, SOQL, SOSL, and the Force.com API. Additionally, you will contribute to the creation of Technical Design Specifications for projects, including logic flow charts and process diagrams. Your responsibilities will also include creating and modifying code to meet specifications, testing and debugging your work, and supporting production software operations during both normal business hours and off-hours. You will be expected to contribute to team discussions, troubleshoot and resolve client issues, and may be responsible for client support across an entire business unit. Researching external software solutions will also be part of your duties, ensuring that the best tools and technologies are utilized to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical development of software, primarily Salesforce, from inception through user acceptance.
  • Design steps and modules, meet timelines, identify and resolve issues.
  • Provide expertise and develop solutions using configuration and custom code in Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Financial Service Cloud.
  • Develop solutions in Salesforce.com using Lightning Component Development or Classic UI, Apex Classes/Triggers, Visualforce Pages, Salesforce Workflow, SOQL, SOSL, and Force.com API.
  • Contribute to Technical Design Specifications for projects and create logic flow charts and process diagrams.
  • Create and modify code to meet specifications, test and debug work.
  • Support production software operations during normal business and off-hours.
  • Contribute to team discussions and troubleshoot client issues.
  • Research external software solutions.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience as a Salesforce Developer.
  • Experience developing software for an enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (OOP) and relational databases, particularly within the Salesforce platform.
  • Experience architecting and delivering custom code on multiple large-scale implementations.
  • 1 year experience in Community/Experience cloud.
  • Experience with enterprise applications development, design skills, and applicable software development languages.
  • Ability to plan work for self and others and resolve technical problems.
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science, or other science field required; advanced degree in a related field preferred.
