About the position

The Application Developer / SharePoint Developer will support the design, development, testing, and implementation of applications and data information systems for various users at NASA Johnson Space Center. This role involves developing .NET applications and configuring SharePoint sites to meet customer needs, focusing on the accumulation, storage, display, analysis, and exchange of human subject health and research-related data.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all areas of design, development, testing, implementation, training, and support of application development projects.
• Support established technical goals of the Application Development Team by collaborating with the HHPIT Team Lead.
• Participate in design and planning meetings to gather and document functional requirements from user representatives.
• Develop and document technical design based on functional requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to design all layers of proposed applications and interfaces.
• Develop code to support requirements and design for all layers of proposed applications and interfaces.
• Configure SharePoint to support requirements for all layers of proposed applications and sites.
• Perform unit testing and system/integration testing; assist with user acceptance testing.
• Coordinate and execute migration of developed applications and SharePoint sites into production.
• Assist in the development and delivery of user training on developed applications.
• Support the adoption and continual improvement of software development processes.
• Ensure adherence to project plans and schedules, providing weekly status reports.
• Utilize Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) as a Code Repository and Application Lifecycle Management tool.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical and personal information according to policies and procedures.
• Work on weekends and/or evenings as required to meet deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience in Information Technology.
• 4+ years of experience in multi-tier application and database development using ASP.NET, C#, SQL, MVC, Entity Framework, or other ORM.
• 4+ years of work experience with SharePoint or a combination of Application Development and SharePoint Development experience.
• Demonstrable experience in SharePoint, C#, HTML, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, XML, ASP.NET, MVC, Entity Framework, and Object Oriented programming.
• Proactive communicator with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across various disciplines.
• Solid foundational knowledge and experience with relational database design/development and software development project management tools.
