About the position

The Application Developer Specialist - HR IT at PPG Industries is responsible for providing analytical and technical expertise within the corporate payroll and benefits business functions. This role involves serving as the technical lead in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of business solutions, while supporting day-to-day HR operations through data analysis and reporting. The position allows for remote work with the requirement of being within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA for weekly office visits.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations through data analysis and reporting.
• Work on Studio integrations with complex calculations.
• Configure business processes by adding new Business Process steps and building payroll reports using payroll result lines and payroll results as data sources.
• Test Workday Compensation including Packages, Salary, and Hourly Plans.
• Optimize business processes and develop processes accordingly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Two years of experience in a related position.
• Two years of experience with Workday software technical resource specializing in Payroll and Benefits configuration, Studio and PICOF integrations, custom reporting tools, and data integration tools.
• Two years of experience in systems and data analysis.
• Two years of experience in software development life cycle and change management concepts.
• Two years of experience in User Acceptance Testing concepts.
• Two years of experience in XML mappings.
