The Application Developer Specialist role at Lincoln Financial is designed for a rising Software Engineer eager to work in a dynamic and innovative technical environment. This position focuses on enhancing and developing web applications to support the Group Protection business, emphasizing customer experience and agile methodologies. The role involves full lifecycle web application development, utilizing modern technologies and practices to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Constructing and implementing software within a full stack environment (Front end, API, persistence, integrations)
• Leveraging Java and Spring Boot in building a reliable back-end
• Using JavaScript and React to build a modern front-end
• Managing the full lifecycle of web application development; from designing, writing, testing, building, deploying, to monitoring
• Practicing and driving engineering practices such as DevOps (CI/CD; you build it, you own it), 12-factor design, and independent architecture

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 1-3 years of experience in application development that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with JavaScript and React (or modern frameworks/libraries)
• Experience with microservice design (Service-Oriented Architecture) and RESTful web services
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Delivery and DevOps
