About the position

The Application Developer Supervisor position at the State of Florida involves overseeing the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications to meet business requirements. This role includes supervising a team, defining project objectives, and ensuring the successful implementation of software solutions that support the Agency for Persons with Disabilities' mission.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, monitors, trains, communicates with, and evaluates employees.
  • Plans and directs the work of subordinate employees, with authority to hire, transfer, suspend, assign, reward, and/or discipline them.
  • Assists in defining, developing, and documenting business requirements and specifications for new software applications.
  • Provides maintenance and support for existing APD Information Technology business applications.
  • Liaises with network and database administrators, systems analysts, and business owners to resolve application issues.
  • Designs, runs, and monitors software performance tests for new and existing applications.
  • Writes programming scripts to enhance functionality and performance of existing applications.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in development and implementation of n-tier web applications using C#.NET, VB.NET, XML, Web Services, ADO.NET, VB Script, Java Script, Visual Studio.NET, SQL Server, and IIS.
  • Experience with the complete software development lifecycle phases: analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of n-tier web applications.
  • Experience with development of stored procedures, triggers, and SSIS packages using SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of development of COM objects and Distributed Computing using Web Services.
  • Knowledge of Entity Framework, MVC, Mobile Application Development, DevOps, and Azure Cloud Deployment.
  • Ability to interact with clients for requirements gathering.
  • Ability to build test matrices for system testing.
  • Demonstrated skills in object-oriented programming and using version control methods.

Nice-to-haves
