About the position

The Application Developer position with the State of Connecticut is focused on developing, deploying, and maintaining applications using the Microsoft .NET framework and Power Platform. The role involves converting legacy systems to modern solutions, providing ongoing support for existing applications, and ensuring efficient data integration and model design. The developer will work within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and adhere to established development standards while collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance organizational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist in converting legacy .NET applications to the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing .NET legacy applications.
• Develop and implement robust API integration solutions.
• Collaborate with database administrators to design efficient data models.
• Exhibit expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Follow established development practices and identify opportunities for process improvements.

Requirements

• Valid certification in Microsoft .NET development.
• Certification in Microsoft Power Platform development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as VB.NET, Java/J2EE, and API development.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Pages, Portals).
• Hands-on experience in setting up Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and writing unit and feature tests.
• Ability to run and optimize SQL queries.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in operating systems, databases, application servers, programming languages, and network protocols.
• Relevant technical certifications or additional training in these areas.
