The Application Developer position is a contract-to-hire role based in Kansas City, MO, with an anticipated start date of July 22, 2024. The successful candidate will join a full-service engineering, architecture, construction, environmental, and consulting solutions firm that is dedicated to planning, designing, permitting, constructing, and managing facilities globally. This role requires a strong focus on both front-end and back-end development, particularly utilizing Palantir Foundry tools. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of web development frameworks and programming languages, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively engage with users and stakeholders. In this position, the Application Developer will participate in user interviews to gather technical and customer requirements, which will inform the development of front-end website architecture. The role involves designing user interactions on web pages using the Palantir Foundry Workshop and developing back-end code logic that utilizes semantic object linking through various Palantir Foundry tools such as Pipeline Builder, Code Workbook, and Ontology Manager. The developer will also be responsible for creating servers, databases, and datasets to ensure the functionality of applications, while maintaining the health of data connections and pipelines through various methods including filesystem, JDBC, SFTP, and webhook. Security is a critical aspect of this role, as the developer must ensure compliance with security protocols and proper handling of sensitive data sets. Additionally, the developer will focus on ensuring the responsiveness of web applications developed on low code/no code solutions and optimizing applications for mobile platforms. The role requires a commitment to seeing projects through from conception to completion, meeting both technical and customer needs, and staying updated on the latest developments in web applications and programming languages. The Application Developer will also have the opportunity to lead other engineers in developing features for their projects, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
