About the position

As an Application Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining APIs for multiple lines of business within an efficient Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This role requires you to act as an advocate for the API Management platform, working cross-functionally with Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Service Managers across various teams in a rapidly evolving environment. Your primary goal will be to accelerate customer adoption and increase engagement with the API Management Platform. In this position, you will partner with business application developers to promote the use of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) best practices, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and reuse. You will need to quickly learn complex business processes and manage competing business priorities effectively. This role presents a great opportunity to showcase and enhance your skills in Microservices and API development while gaining in-depth knowledge of Client Bank's products and services. To succeed in this role, you must possess strong leadership and communication skills, along with a solid software development background in SOA environments. You will thrive in a collaborative setting, coordinating with cross-functional teams and providing a clear technical vision to advance project goals. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain APIs for multiple lines of business within an Agile SDLC.
  • Act as an advocate for the API Management platform.
  • Work cross-functionally with Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Service Managers.
  • Partner with business app developers to promote SOA best practices.
  • Focus on scalability, maintainability, and reuse of APIs.
  • Accelerate customer adoption and increase engagement with the API Management Platform.
  • Learn complex business processes quickly and manage competing business priorities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in programming, analysis, design, development, implementation, quality assurance, and application support.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices, and API Gateways.
  • Experience with at least one of the following technologies: 3Scale, Mulesoft, Apigee Edge, CA Technologies, Tibco Mashery, Axway, or IBM Gateway.
  • Proven experience in working collaboratively and coordinating among cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including influence, negotiation, collaboration, and diplomacy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of SailPoint IIQ, IBM Tivoli Identity Manager, Oracle Identity Manager, or other Identity Management suites.
  • Working knowledge of software development in Event Oriented Architecture using messaging.
  • Working knowledge of application integration services like PaaS, Enterprise Service Bus, and Messaging brokers.
  • Experience with Client Bank Lines of Business and applications.
