About the position

The Application Developer at Sammons Financial Group is responsible for back-end development, focusing on .NET, C#, and SQL. This role involves collaborating with various teams to conceptualize and develop new software applications, maintaining APIs, and ensuring the integrity and security of databases. The developer will also play a key role in project planning, documentation, and testing, while maintaining a high standard of software quality and performance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with analysts, designers, and programmers in the development of new software programs and applications.
• Perform technical tasks and detailed analyses to solve technical problems.
• Define, develop, and document software requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications.
• Create and maintain user-oriented applications and design specifications.
• Develop, test, document, and implement applications according to standards and methodologies.
• Design, develop, and test automation scripts.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information resources.
• Design, run, and monitor software functional and performance tests.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
• Maintain currency of professional, technical, and business skills.

Requirements

• College Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or Management Information Systems.
• Preferred minimum of 8 years' IT development experience or equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills sufficient to perform research and recommend solutions.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
• Knowledge of computer programming languages as required for the system.

Nice-to-haves

• Aptitude for COBOL or Policy Administration systems.
• Experience in leading project teams without HR management responsibility.
