About the position

SAIC is seeking an Application Developer to support the modernization of legacy IRS systems. This role involves designing, developing, integrating, testing, and deploying modernized applications, specifically for the GMF project. The developer will work with Unisys OS 2200 systems and various programming languages and tools, contributing to software development and operational upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist with the design, development, integration, testing, and deployment for a GMF Modernized Application.
• Support software development, modernization, enhancements, and developmental O&M upgrades.
• Work with the Unisys OS 2200 systems using COBOL (UCOB), DMS, RDMS, ECL, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science, or equivalent education.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an MBI clearance.
• At least 10 years of work experience demonstrating knowledge of Unisys ClearPath OS 2200, COBOL (UCOB), DMS, RDMS, TIP, ECL, InfoConnect and other core Unisys OS 2200 Mainframe technologies.
• Experience with development methodologies with a minimum of 5 years using Agile.
• Experience developing physical and logical architecture, leveraging client templates and processes.
• Must be client focused, display interpersonal skills and be an effective team member.
• Understanding of IRS Submission Processing.
• Developer experience with Unisys OS 2200 platform.
• Knowledge of computer programming, database access, and applicable tools.
• Experience with Unisys COBOL, both ACOB and UCOB.
• Developer experience with DMS, RDMS, ECL, InfoConnect and related tools.

Nice-to-haves

• An Active IRS MBI Clearance is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Java, mainframe programming and migration.
• Understanding of Modernization Approaches.
• Understanding of Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Understanding of Application analysis tools.
