About the position

The Developer position at Primerica involves working on complex tasks related to the development of new and existing systems. This role requires advanced techniques in analysis, design, coding, and unit testing. Developers will improve production workflows and resolve issues while working under moderate supervision from experienced developers and project leaders. The position offers a salary of up to $110K and is fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Codes, unit tests, and debugs programs ensuring optimal performance using strong programming techniques.
  • Writes technical specifications and creates thorough unit test plans for new functionalities and applications.
  • Utilizes appropriate software tools for source code management, code creation, compilation, and program execution.
  • Documents new systems and changes to existing systems according to established standards; develops flow charts and coding structures.
  • Provides on-call support for production and lower environments.
  • Provides training by mentoring other developers and/or contractors.
  • Performs background analysis through research and meetings with business areas to define needs and resolve problems.
  • Applies advanced analysis skills and business knowledge to solve business problems.
  • Collaborates with others to formulate optimal solutions.
  • Participates in system creation, planning, and coordination with other IT teams and resources.
  • Coordinates with business teams on appropriate work efforts for their areas.
  • Creates and/or updates system documentation based on project assignments.
  • Enforces and adheres to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Technology Management Policy.
  • Manages one-person projects to completion including project design.
  • Maintains positive business/peer interactions.
  • Complies with legal and ethical standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Technical, trade or business school or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.
  • 2 - 3 years of intermediate-level job experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in at least one development discipline/platform and participation in at least one major system project.
  • Strong problem-solving, analysis, and design skills.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and work with guidance from managers and team members.
