About the position

BAE Systems is seeking an Application Developer to support a Department of Justice customer by designing, developing, and enhancing software applications. The role involves transitioning applications to the AWS GovCloud while ensuring compliance with government policies. The developer will collaborate with team members to analyze existing systems and design solutions, focusing on building scalable and user-friendly web applications. The position requires strong communication skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, refactor, enhance, test, and evaluate software applications.
• Support the transition of applications to the AWS GovCloud.
• Collaborate with team members and Government PM to analyze existing systems.
• Provide instruction, guidance, and documentation to Government personnel.
• Attend CCB meetings with the Government to represent the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Experience with .Net Core 7/8, React, and Azure fundamentals.
• Knowledge of microservices, SOAP, and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Postgres and Agile methodologies.
• Basic Linux command navigation skills.
• Experience with Docker containers and GitLab CI/CD.

Nice-to-haves

• One or more years of experience with cloud application development and management.
