About the position
The Application Development Analyst, Advanced position at Advanced Systems Design involves providing maintenance, enhancement, and support for various business applications. The role requires collaboration with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to resolve software-related issues, as well as mentoring junior programmers. The analyst will also be responsible for documenting program requirements, writing software applications, and developing user manuals.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance, enhancement, and support for a variety of the agency's business applications.
- Assist in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications.
- Research and document requirements of program users.
- Write, translate, and code software programs and applications per specifications.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
- Work with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to resolve problems with software products or company software systems.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior programmers.
Requirements
- 7+ years' experience with Oracle databases, including DML and DDL statements for complex queries and PL/SQL database objects.
- 5+ years' experience with Oracle Forms application development.
- 3+ years' experience with Javascript frameworks (AngularJS, NodeJS, React, or JQuery).
- 3+ years' experience as a full-stack developer.
- 3+ years' experience developing PHP applications using an MVC framework, preferably CodeIgniter.
- Experience with responsive design frameworks, preferably Bootstrap.
- Experience using code repositories, preferably Git.
- Experience using continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins.
- Knowledge of relational database designs and object-oriented design methodologies.
- Knowledge of Information Systems Development Methodology (ISDM).
- Experience with database query tools (TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Navigator).
- Knowledge of database security, including role-based security.
- Knowledge and experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, guidelines, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Ability to write technical, business, and plain language documents with attention to detail.
- Ability to work on multiple projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to work independently and determine work priorities.
Nice-to-haves
- Oracle certification(s).
- Familiarity with Agile development (Scrum, Extreme Programming, Kanban).
- Experience with Virtualization (Docker).
- Experience implementing GIS applications.
- Experience developing web services (RESTful web services).
- Knowledge of environmental regulatory business processes and practices.
