About the position

The position involves collaborating with team members within the division to provide and maintain applications that meet the business needs of the organization. The specialist will be responsible for the software design and development of complex and large-scale business solutions, offering technical guidance and leadership for specific applications. This role requires the individual to take a lead position on projects, providing direction and technical support to project resources for designated applications. The specialist will also be expected to analyze system problems and recommend alternative solutions, as well as identify opportunities to enhance system effectiveness and efficiency. The work environment includes mainframe, client/server, business intelligence, and web environments, focusing on both internally built applications and vendor-packaged applications. The position allows for telecommuting or working from home, providing flexibility in the work arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with division members to provide and maintain applications that meet business needs.
• Design and develop software for complex and large-scale business solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership for specific applications.
• Take a lead role on projects, guiding project resources for specific applications.
• Analyze system problems and recommend alternatives for resolution.
• Identify opportunities to improve system effectiveness and efficiency.
• Work in various environments including mainframe, client/server, business intelligence, and web.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field.
• 2 years of progressive work experience in application development and systems design.
• 2 years of experience in JAVA/J2EE utilizing Web Services, Struts, Spring, and Hibernate technologies.
• 2 years of experience in building modern web applications using Javascript and Node.js.
• 1 year of experience working with AWS Services and/or Cloud Technologies.
• 2 years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance for developing and supporting Policy Sales and Servicing web applications.
• 2 years of experience utilizing RDMS systems, such as Oracle and MySQL.
• 2 years of experience utilizing Agile methodologies.
