As an Application Engineer 3 - Controls Engineer - Building Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the Engineering department, contributing significantly to various projects with the support of your colleagues and managers. The ideal candidate will possess a collaborative spirit and a structured approach to work, as the company is focused on growth and success. In this role, you will be responsible for designing HVAC temperature control systems and lighting and access control systems. You will manage projects from start to finish, which includes kickoff meetings, creating submittal drawings, and overseeing project phases such as 30%, 90%, and closeout. Your expertise will be essential in independently designing complex projects that enhance energy conservation and efficiency. You will also be involved in the design of Building Automation Systems (BAS) for HVAC, lighting, and access control systems, utilizing Delta Controls technology. Your responsibilities will extend to preparing cost estimates for control systems across commercial, industrial, and institutional HVAC systems, managing labor budgets, and handling re-estimations, Requests for Information (RFIs), and change orders. Effective communication is key in this position; you will work closely with customers to gather essential information to ensure that the final design aligns with their needs while also educating them on the benefits of the systems. Additionally, you will collaborate with account managers on construction estimates and proposal writing, and regularly update your manager on project progress and any concerns.
