About the position

As an Applications Engineer at Bastian Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in developing strong relationships with industrial clients and providing them with exceptional autonomous vehicle solutions tailored to meet their specific business requirements. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of autonomous vehicles, material flow, information flow, and general business processes to effectively engineer solutions that enhance operational efficiency for our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include regular and timely visits to customers to foster strong relationships, promoting Bastian Solutions in various forums, and targeting key accounts for penetration. You will be responsible for selling a diverse range of autonomous vehicle products and services, ensuring that you meet the unique needs of each customer. Mastery of product information through training and personal efforts is essential, as is the ability to provide professional quotes promptly. In addition to sales, you will need to master business technology tools such as AutoCAD, CRM systems, and PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate and strategize for customer account management. You will pursue leads generated from our website and suppliers, maintain current customer database information in our CRM, and communicate strategic insights regarding suppliers, customers, and competition. Collaboration with engineering, project management, administrative coordinators, suppliers, and sales management is crucial to ensure excellent representation of our autonomous vehicle products and services. Your success will be measured by your ability to close sales and exceed annual sales goals, penetrate new target accounts, and creatively engineer superior solutions for our customers. This role requires a proactive approach to sales and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with customers through timely, regular visits
  • Promote Bastian Solutions in all appropriate forums
  • Target key accounts and penetrate them
  • Sell a variety of autonomous vehicle products and services to meet customer needs
  • Master product information through training and personal efforts
  • Provide professional quotes in a timely manner
  • Master business technology (AutoCAD, CRM, PowerPoint presentations, etc.)
  • Plan strategies for customer account penetration/account management
  • Pursue leads from our website and suppliers
  • Maintain current customer database information in our CRM
  • Communicate strategic information regarding suppliers, customers, and competition
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, administrative coordinators, suppliers, and sales management
  • Represent all autonomous vehicle products and key product lines and services provided by Bastian
  • Close sales and exceed annual sales goals
  • Penetrate new target accounts
  • Provide creative engineering solutions for customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, Engineering degree or equivalent sales experience preferred
  • Technical sales experience in the industrial sector is a plus
  • Material Handling automation design and sales experience is a plus
  • CAD experience (AutoCAD) is a plus
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship
