About the position

As an Application Engineer for Analytical Instrumentation, you will play a crucial role in providing sales support for a range of analytical instruments. This position involves conducting feasibility studies, addressing customer application inquiries, and ensuring that clients are satisfied with the product lines, which include density, viscosity, refractometry, polarimetry, and volatility. You will be responsible for evaluating and presenting the results of these studies, which are essential for demonstrating the capabilities of the instruments to potential customers. Your expertise will help guide clients in making informed decisions about their analytical needs. In addition to sales support, you will also be involved in the installation of instruments, providing training to users, and offering ongoing technical support. This aspect of the role is vital as it ensures that customers can effectively utilize the instruments to achieve their desired results. You will need to interpret data accurately and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the use of the instruments, which requires a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills. Participation in conferences and trade shows is another key responsibility of this position. These events provide opportunities to showcase the products, network with industry professionals, and stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in analytical instrumentation. Given the nature of the role, you should be prepared for frequent overnight travel, which may account for 40% to 60% of your time. This travel will allow you to meet with clients across the Eastern region and provide them with the support they need.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting, evaluating, and presenting feasibility studies (sample measurements).
  • Installations, training, and technical support.
  • Interpreting data and troubleshooting issues.
  • Participating in conferences and trade shows.
  • Availability for frequent overnight travel (up to 40%- 60%).

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in analytical instruments or related methods.
  • Exceptional communications skills (written, oral, and presentation) for interactions with clients ranging from Scientist to University Professors and CEOs.
  • Ability to work independently and with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or material science.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
