About the position

The Application Engineer for Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) at Applied Materials is responsible for leading product application roadmaps and executing complex application activities. This role involves interfacing with customers to analyze technical requirements, optimizing system performance, and developing new application capabilities. The engineer will leverage their extensive experience in the semiconductor industry to solve high-value customer problems and lead technical review meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead product application roadmap for future solutions based on customer technologies and critical gaps.
• Technically lead complex application activities and teams.
• Create and lead execution teams for site evaluations and demos at customer locations, ensuring commitment to schedules.
• Interface with customers to analyze technical requirements and schedules.
• Define and approve product application support plans for installations.
• Create and lead new methodologies to optimize system performance for specific applications.
• Analyze, develop, and transfer new application capabilities from product division to customer application support team.
• Lead customer technical review meetings.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with a proven track record of successes.
• In-depth knowledge of semiconductor equipment and process engineering.
• Proficiency in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence with a proven track record of solving customer problems using these techniques.
• Strong project management, portfolio management, and leadership skills with a focus on delivering results on time.
