About the position

The Application Engineer - TM1 / Planning Analytics will be a key member of the World Wide Amazon Stores Finance team, focusing on innovative technology solutions to enhance customer experience in financial planning and analytics. This role involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and deliver technical systems that meet the needs of internal customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, creativity, and a passion for driving impactful solutions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, application engineers, data engineers, and product managers.
  • Develop and maintain TM1 models, including system configuration and report/dashboard development.
  • Implement data modeling and ETL pipelines to support financial planning and analytics.
  • Lead the design and delivery of training programs related to TM1 and financial analytics tools.
  • Provide strategic inputs and insights based on deep analysis of financial data and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience with IBM Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics, including system configuration and model building.
  • Proficiency in TM1 technical skills such as Rules and TI coding, security setup, and report development.
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Corporate finance experience with knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Familiarity with at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles.
  • Working knowledge of TM1Py and REST API.
  • Experience with non-relational databases and data stores.
  • Project management experience including scoping, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
