About the position

The Application Engineer position at Parkson Corporation is a full-time role based in Golden, CO, focused on providing inside sales and process support for various engineering projects. The engineer will be responsible for the design engineering, preparation of product specifications, estimation, and the creation of bid proposals and presentations for manufacturer representatives and regional managers. This role requires a sound understanding of water and wastewater treatment principles and their application across different industries. The engineer will develop process designs, guarantees, and specifications for specific projects, ensuring that all proposals are completed accurately and in detail. Regular communication with regional sales managers, technical sales managers, and customers is essential to maintain relationships and ensure timely responses to inquiries. In addition to proposal activities, the engineer will maintain the Master Project File and the SalesForce.com project database, ensuring that all designs conform to contract specifications and drawings. The role also involves redirecting sales inquiries to the appropriate product group and supporting the development of a comprehensive sales toolbox that includes competitive intelligence, case studies, marketing datasheets, and proposal templates. The engineer will serve as a technical process expert, providing post-sale support as needed and assisting the Product Manager with strategic initiatives. The position may also require on-site support functions related to pilot activities. It is important to note that this job description is not exhaustive and may change as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inside sales and process support for engineering projects.
  • Prepare product specifications, estimations, and bid proposals.
  • Maintain regular contact and follow-ups with clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop process designs, guarantees, and specifications for projects.
  • Ensure all proposals are completed accurately and in detail.
  • Communicate with Regional Sales Managers, Technical Sales Managers, and customers.
  • Lead proposal activities and engage with product leads as necessary.
  • Maintain the Master Project File and SalesForce.com project database.
  • Ensure designs conform to contract specifications and drawings.
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely manner and communicate timelines to customers.
  • Redirect sales inquiries to the appropriate product group.
  • Support the development of a sales toolbox for the product portfolio.
  • Seek vendor quotes to build competitive project budgets.
  • Serve as a technical process expert and provide post-sale support.
  • Assist the Product Manager with strategic initiatives and pilot activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or Biological Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of application or process engineering design experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe software.
  • Experience with Baan software is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 requirements is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Responsiveness to client needs and inquiries.
