About the position

The Application Engineer for Cold Chain & Refrigeration Controls will collaborate with sales and technical teams to promote and support a range of HVACR products. This role involves engaging in controls design, startup, commissioning support, and training, while also addressing customer requests and providing tailored solutions for specific applications.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to develop appropriate solutions and quantify customer requirements.
  • Develop supervisory sequence of operations (SOO) and provide application solutions for HVACR manufacturers (OEM).
  • Execute programming strategies to optimize systems.
  • Support implementation of CO2 products and system tuning and optimization.
  • Conduct de-brief sessions with field service, technical support, and project engineering teams to ensure continued support of application solutions.
  • Maintain advanced user level of products, services, and applications offered by the company.
  • Maintain proficiency in designated third-party products and services.
  • Provide onsite startup of Building and Refrigeration controls, ensuring equipment is operational and free of defects, including troubleshooting and commissioning.
  • Act as a technical SME and key escalation point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Present application informative content and training for internal staff and equipment manufacturers (OEM).

Requirements

  • Associate's (AA) degree from a two-year college or technical school along with 5 years related HVAC/R experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified in the use and handling of HFC, HCFC, A2L refrigerants.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% during onboarding, with an average of 25% travel once fully onboarded.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Copeland controls in the field.
  • Experience with startup of Cascade systems, Transcritical, Booster/Parallel systems.
