About the position

The Support Engineer for the Amazon Kindle Operating System will focus on debugging and identifying issues within the operating system stack. This role involves analyzing large sets of logs to identify data patterns, monitoring key metrics, maintaining dashboards, and creating automated alarms to detect failures. The engineer will collaborate with multiple internal teams to root-cause issues and develop dashboards to monitor the health of the Kindle system.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software development or technical support experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
  • Experience scripting in modern programming languages.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
  • Understanding of operating system concepts and fluency in C/C++.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
