About the position

The Electrical Vehicle (EV) Application Engineer plays a crucial role in understanding customer requirements and providing technical solutions for shaft grounding products used in electric vehicles. This position involves collaborating with the Account Management team, contributing to product innovation, and advocating for customer needs throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will leverage their electrical knowledge to guide customers, address product issues, and support the development of new products tailored to the EV market.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand the complex electrical functions of the product and its applications.
• Guide customers on the necessity and evaluation of shaft grounding devices.
• Lead the sample feedback process with customers.
• Review product application designs for compliance with engineering principles and specifications.
• Customize products for customer applications using available tools.
• Address product or application issues with customers as they arise.
• Prepare new product cost breakdowns with operations support.
• Coordinate with R&D and testing resources for customized data and testing services.
• Help customers interpret technical testing reports.
• Lead evaluation and approval of mechanical design changes and specifications.
• Assist with the corrective action process related to manufacturing and design.
• Interact with customers and vendors throughout the product launch cycle.
• Act as a trusted advisor for customer product/application needs.
• Proactively identify product improvement opportunities and work cross-functionally to implement new products.
• Contribute to market research and define product requirements.
• Identify new opportunities through customer insight activities.
• Assist with competitor mapping and commercial activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years engineering work experience.
• Working knowledge of CAD (Inventor Preferred).
• Project Management experience required.
• Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
