About the position

The Application Engineer for Enterprise Data and Engineering at Google is responsible for leading all aspects of web development, including requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. This role involves working closely with a cross-functional team to design and implement efficient data solutions throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring high levels of engineering quality and innovation to meet user and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of web development for in-house and customer-facing applications.
  • Gather requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Design and implement efficient data solutions through the full project lifecycle.
  • Write quality product and system development code to solve data challenges.
  • Envision, design, and deliver repeatable patterns and frameworks for data processes.
  • Deliver APIs/microservices aligned with Google’s objectives and key results.
  • Foster an innovative mindset to solve problems across multiple business areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with data warehousing, data analytics, data integration, and database design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with functional partners and other engineering teams.
  • Experience in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to deliver quality code on complex software projects.
