About the position

The Application Engineer - Excitation role focuses on providing systems application engineering support to sales teams and customers, leveraging technical expertise in power generation systems and components. The position involves assisting customers with product selection, installation, troubleshooting, and promoting Basler products at industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in the proper selection of Basler products as they relate to systems and discrete components.
  • Support customers in the application, installation, start-up, calibration, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of Basler products and related systems.
  • Travel to determine product potentials and customer needs, assisting in the sale of products and systems.
  • Maintain communication with all sales territories to ensure systems application assistance is provided as required in sales plans.
  • Present Basler products, systems, and problem solutions to customers at conferences as scheduled by sales personnel.
  • Assist in promotional activities including product literature reviews and participation in industry functions such as trade shows and technical conferences.
  • Interface and communicate with marketing personnel and project teams to provide market feedback for successful product specifications and development.
  • Survey and define market needs and assist in market research and competitive information collection.
  • Present technical papers at industry conferences as required.
  • Assist in creating sales tools including application notes.
  • Lead other application specialists in daily activities.

Requirements

  • BSEE or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years' experience as Application Specialist - Systems, or ten years equivalent experience with knowledge of generating power systems and analog and digital circuitry.
  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time in assigned sales territories.
