About the position

The Application Engineer at Lucent Health plays a crucial role in supporting the application development process and maintaining existing applications. This position involves coding, designing, managing applications, troubleshooting, monitoring updates, addressing security threats, and providing end-user support. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain both web and mobile applications for Lucent Health.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure applications align with the organization's goals and customer needs.
  • Build-out entirely new applications or enhance existing applications based on provided architectural specifications.
  • Oversee the performance of the applications to ensure they are running properly.
  • Monitor cloud performance and troubleshoot anomalies.
  • Attend daily standups and participate in discussions on current activities.
  • Build out solutions based on task assignments.
  • Monitor logs and dashboards to verify system integrity and operational performance.
  • Carry out regular security and performance checks.
  • Stay on track of the application lifecycle to ensure necessary updates are completed on time.
  • Effectively communicate status updates to staff in a timely manner.
  • Provide feedback on performance improvement or enhancement as identified.
  • Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
  • Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in software development.
  • Adopt an automation mindset and skillset.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in React, NodeJS and/or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge within ETL scripting such as GoLang, Python or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of backend development and relational database management (SQL/Postgres).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS technologies (Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3, Transfer Family, CloudWatch, Cognito).
  • Experience creating and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitLab is a plus).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Linux/Unix environments, Apache, Crontab.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and pods.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure scripting such as Terraform.
  • Experienced in Git and issue tracking tools like Atlassian/Jira.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge in using and writing RESTful APIs or requests to integrate various components and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • A minimum of 5 years of comparable experience as an application developer.
  • Deep understanding of SDLC core programming principles.
  • Skilled in HTML, CSS and a JavaScript based language. Proficient in SQL.
  • Understanding of server scripting and source control.
  • Proficiency with project tracking software, such as Jira.
  • Cloud architecture and resource use.
  • Strong ability to influence and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management and staff.
  • Full Stack experience is a plus.
  • Specialized training, certification or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Degree from an accredited school in computer science or related preferred.
