About the position

The Application Engineer I role at Johnson Controls focuses on providing sales and technical support for aftermarket product offerings related to airside units. This position is integral to ensuring efficient order processing, customer support, and collaboration with various teams to enhance product sales and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sales and technical support to the Field Sales and Service organization, end users, and contractors.
  • Quote and process incoming orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data entry.
  • Manage order entry, order status, and follow up with suppliers.
  • Create new customer profiles and provide support for the Global Airside Field Sales & Service organization.
  • Assist with technical inquiries via Sales Force and email from field offices, contractors, and end users.
  • Work with suppliers, JCI factories, and engineering teams to provide part numbers, pricing, and delivery for Airside Aftermarket parts.
  • Utilize system databases to provide parts pricing and freight estimates.
  • Coordinate archive data requests with the internal retention center to support Airside agents and JCI Sales and Rep/Agents.
  • Resolve RMA issues that arise with customer orders.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities through day-to-day support activities.
  • Promote and enhance aftermarket product offerings for purchase.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing plants to increase sales through price discounts, premium shipping, and quantity breaks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a minimum of 5 years work experience in aftermarket part sales, administrative, and customer support roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), Internet software, Sales Force, and email.
  • Adherence to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics Standards.
