About the position

The Applications Engineer I position at Regal Rexnord is an entry-level role focused on supporting the Commercial Operations team within the Couplings Division. The engineer will be responsible for applying and selecting Regal Rexnord products, particularly in the couplings vertical market. This role involves problem-solving, technical support, and collaboration with various departments to ensure customer satisfaction and product effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and solves problems presented by customers, customer service, manufacturing, quality, sales, and engineering.
  • Responsible for knowing the Regal Rexnord brand coupling products thoroughly.
  • Works with customers to determine the best coupling for their application, complete technical bids, and support customer training.
  • Supports product failure/troubleshooting and acts as the subject matter expert for technical support.
  • Partners with manufacturing to determine machining, balancing, and material requirements.
  • Re-rates and modifies existing coupling designs and analyzes feasibility of design modifications.
  • Coordinates project inquiries and quotations for Regal Rexnord products.
  • Provides review and analysis of customer and industry technical specifications for product selection.
  • Develops and follows standard procedures for scalable commercial and technical support.
  • Provides support for field representatives and assists in their training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or related field.
  • Ability to learn and become familiar with AGMA, DIN, ISO, ANSI, API, ASTM standards.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret Regal Rexnord drawings and customer specifications.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce.com or other CRM, SAP/Oracle, or other ERP systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous engineering experience in heavy equipment industries.
  • Experience with couplings or related power transmission equipment.
