About the position

Tuvli is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of Applications Engineer - II for an existing government client. The place of performance for this contract is in Alexandria, VA or Rosslyn, VA. The Applications Engineer II (AEII) must have experience with network management and analysis tools such as Solar Winds. The AEII must have a solid working technical knowledge of software applications, protocols, and standards; hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience; knowledge of network security measures; and of applicable data privacy practices and laws. This position requires a Top Secret clearance with an upgrade to SCI. The AEII will ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of various applications, monitor and manage various hardware and equipment, including access control devices, and analyze application performance across the organization's LAN and WAN infrastructure. The role involves providing performance statistics and reports, identifying and remedying system faults, administering hardware and software upgrades for security network equipment, and performing research and development. Additionally, the AEII will develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery. The position also includes responsibilities for network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. The AEII will administer and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights, recommend, schedule, and perform system improvements, upgrades, and repairs, and interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services. The AEII must be able to provide periodic 24/7 on-call support.

Requirements

  • Must have a degree in the field of computer science or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Three years or more of directly related experience is preferred.
  • IT certifications are a plus.
